Spanish firm to build $10m steel factory in Ghana

SteelGrup Armangue, a Spanish Consortium that manufactures steel for concrete re-enforcement, is to build a $10-million factory in Ghana.

The project, which is expected to commence in two years, would provide jobs for about 200 Ghanaians.

Mr John Komlan Gbenyedzi, Chief Executive Officer of Eco Technologies and Community Infrastructure Group (ETIC Group), local representatives of the corporate entity, made this known at the launch of Ferrallats Armangue, steel bending service in Accra on Friday.

He said the company uses the state of the art technology to manufacture its products that allows considerable savings on labour, leading to cost reduction to customers’ benefit.

Mr Gbenyedzi said the company is entering the Ghanaian real estate market through the ETIC Group, which would import the product from Spain to serve customers.

He said the decision to adopt Ghana as an entry point into Africa’s real estate market was mainly due to the stable political climate and favourable business environment.

Mr Gbenyedzi said the introduction of the product onto the Ghanaian market would greatly boost the real estate industry in terms of speed and cost.

“The prefab steel we are introducing onto the Ghanaian market will give buildings the needed precision and fortification, since the production process is computer supported,” he added.

Mr Miguel Zaldivar, Trade Advisor of the Spanish Economic and Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy, said more than  1,500 Spanish companies are operating in the country.

There are about 50 Spanish investors in the country exploring opportunities in the various sectors of the economy.

He said the Embassy would support the factory in its operations in Ghana.

INTERESTING STORY, WHY THIS COMPANY CHOSE TO IMPORT THESE MATERIALS TO GHANA AND WAIT TILL 2YRS BEFORE SETTING UP A FACTORY IN GHANA. SPAIN IS BROKE, JUST LIKE FRANCE, PORTUGAL, GREECE. WHEN TWO YEARS COMES I BET YOU YOU WILL NOT SEE ANY FACTORY IN GHANA. EVERYONE TAKE GHANAIANS AS FOOLS BECAUSE OF LEADERS IN THIS COUNTRY THE SAME WAY CHINESE DUMP THEIR USELESS PRODUCTS IN GHANA AND SELL THEIR GOOD PRODUCTS IN NORTH AMERICA SINCE THEY HAVE TO COMPETE.

GHANAIANS BEEN LIE TO FOR SO LONG AND THAT IS WHY THE CEDI STRUGGLES BECAUSE OF THESE IMPORTERS CHANGE GHANA CEDI INTO DOLLARS. THESE STEEL RODS CAN BE BUILD IN GHANA BY GHANAIAN COMPANIES, IT A SHAME EUROPE IS BROKE AND DUMPING THEIR PRODUCTS IN GHANA DESTROYING OR DISCOURAGING MANUFACTURING IN GHANA MAKING GHANAIANS UNEMPLOYED. ALL BUSINESS SHOULD BE DONE IN CEDIS, NO OTHER CURRENCIES. IT STUPID TO SEE THESE COMPANIES TRYING TO REBUILD THE SAME EUROPEAN COUNTRIES WHO DENIED AFRICAN MIGRANTS AS WELL AS DID DESTROY THEIR OWN ECONOMIES BY OVERSPENDING.
