Gabon signs strategic energy agreement with international companies
Gabonese President, Ali Bongo Ondimba has witnessed the signing of a strategic agreement in the energy sector and four other important contracts at the New York Forum Africa (NYFA) 2013 forum in Gabon, and one of the top priorities of the Forum, that is promoting foreign investments and job creation for Africans, have been achieved, a statement has said.
The other four contracts include creating an energy hub for the entire Atlantic coasts of Africa and the capital will amount to $1 million with 55% owned by the Gabonese government and 45% by major Swiss oil trader Gunvor, the statement indicated.
It added that, three major schools to accommodate 1800 students by 2016 with an amount of $34 million invested for each school will be constructed and the development of the Libreville Port Mole’s Harbor estimated at $120 million.
The organizer and founder of the Forum, Richard Attias said, “The NYFA is a call for action with extremely concrete results. We’ve committed to this at the creation of the event. Today we have the pleasure to witness contract signatures that will spur job creations.”
