The Ghana Government has signed a performance contract with all the Ministers for them to deliver according to the vision of government, Mr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Deputy Minister for Information and Media relations has stated.

He said that under the agreement, every minister would make a presentation according to the vision of government and the manifesto of the National Democratic Congress that would include objectives, implementation, strategies for the performance and timeline on how to achieve targets.

Mr Mohammed announced these during the daily media briefings at the Flagstaff House, Kanda, Accra, on Friday.

He said the ministers for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Local Government and Rural Development, Finance and Economic Planning and Information and Media Relations had so far made presentations to a panel of experts, who would criticize and ask questions about their input.

Mr Mohammed said the development was to spur the Ministers to perform creditably in their areas, and to help the President to achieve his campaign promises.

Although he did not give specific timeline on the performance, he said the retention of ministers in office would solely depend on the implementation of their policies and the positive impact on Ghanaians.

The Deputy Minister said the performance contract formed part of President Mahama’s determination to ensure transparency and accountability in his government
