Stop negative comments – Radio panelists cautioned
The Chakali Youth Association in the Upper West Region, has appealed to panelists and phone-in-callers to radio stations to stop negative comments and giving judgment on the ongoing election petition at the Supreme Court.
In a statement issued in Wa, the Association noted that some of unguided comments had the potential of causing confusion in the communities.
The Association explained that certain communities in the Chakali Areas were identified as flash points for election violence before the 2012 elections and expressed the fear that there could be conflict situation in those communities if panelists and phone-in-callers failed to control their language.
It called on people in the Region to preach peace at all times in the communities to enhance development.
The Association urged Ghanaians to accept the verdict of the Supreme Court, notwithstanding their political considerations.
The non-acceptance of the verdict of the outcome of the Supreme Court ruling, the Association said, could derail the path of democracy in Ghana.
