ASBOD/NPC to collaborate with Germany
The Association of Sports for the Disable (ASBOD) and the National Paralympic Committee (NPC), has struck a partnership with the German Wheel Chair Sports Federation (GWCSF).
As part of the partnership, the two bodies shall collaborate in areas transfer, technical assistance as well as political cooperation for the development of disability sports in Ghana.
GWCSF will send three experienced experts to Ghana to conduct series of training course designed for coaches, teachers, therapist, doctors and athletes in the National Paralympic team.
The course fixed for July 27 to August 11, is aimed at raising the standards of disable sports in Ghana and to improve the country’s performance at all international events.
Laura Loffler, Director of GWCSF in a correspondence to ASBOD/NPC made available to the GNA Sports, said the partnership will also cultivate political cooperation between the two countries in the area of disable sports, develop mobility support for wheelchair users and provide rehabilitation services to disable athletes.
GWCFS will also support their Ghanaian partners with talent identification programmes.
Ignatius Elletey, General Secretary of ASBOD/NPC told the GNA Sports that, his outfit will derive immense benefit from the partnership in updating the knowledge of their technical officials and athletes.
“I am convinced this partnership will pave way for us to move disable sports to greater heights”.
