New DCEs asked to bury political differences

Alhaji Limuna Mohammed-Muniru, Upper East Regional Minister, at the weekend asked newly confirmed District Chief Executives(DCEs) to bury their political and ethnic differences and unite the people for development.

The Regional Minister said ethnicity and political differences if not properly handled could breed conflicts and jeopardize the relative peace being enjoyed by the people.

He advised the DCEs to initiate measures to increase revenue for development particularly health, education, and agriculture in their respective areas.

Alhaji Mohammed-Muniru made the remarks at a meeting organised to confirm Mr Daniel Akologo Adoliba, the President’s nominee for the position of DCE for Binduri.

Mr Adoliba pledged to work with the assembly members to bring development to Binduri, particularly the provision of new educational infrastructure and the rehabilitation of classrooms to promote education.

The DCE appealed to the people to support the assembly to be able to implement projects to improve their living conditions.
