Don’t allow politicians to use you – Youth urged
Former Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), Mr S. K. Danso has advised the youth to refuse to be manipulated by any politician to cause confusion after the Supreme Court’s ruling on the presidential election petition.
He said they should be alert and resist overtures by those who might want to disturb the peace in pursuit of their self-seeking political agenda.
Speaking with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi on Monday, he noted that in the event of chaos, women, children and the aged would suffer the most.
Mr Danso said Ghanaians needed to take useful lessons from conflicts triggered by election disputes elsewhere to avoid the pitfalls.
He underscored the important of the media to promote political tolerance and accommodation to preserve the unity and cohesion of the country.
He said the truism of life was that whatever God had ordained could not simply be undone by anybody.
Mr Danso said whatever the outcome of the Election Petition must be accepted by all in good faith.
He also appealed to the political parties to educate and encourage their supporters to respect the Court’s verdict.
