Gold Fields Ghana Limited (GFL) has donated two computers, three printers and accessories worth 5,000 Ghana Cedis to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) to enhance the work of the Agency.

Dr. Tony Aubynn, Head of Corporate Affairs and Social Development GFL, who presented the items, said he recognized GNA as a leading media organisation in Ghana and also appreciated the crucial role the organisation had played since independence.

Dr. Aubynn said the donation was a clear demonstration of GFL’s desire to ensure efficient gathering and dissemination of information in the country.

“We believe the presentation of these items will help to cement the relationship between GNA and GFL,” he stated.

Dr. Aubynn said the support followed another donation to the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) in the Western Region in 2007 made up of a computer, a television set and office accessories.

Mr. Felix Forson, Administrative Manager of GNA, received the items and expressed the Agency’s appreciation for the donation.

He commended the active role the GFL had played in financing the building of schools, new settlements and clinics at Tarkwa and Damang areas in the Western Region as well as the company’s support to the national football team, the Black Stars.
