Ghana cedi falls slowly to 3.4% in 2013 first-half year
The Ghanaian cedi fell 3.4% against the US dollar in the first-half of 2013, according to the central bank.
This was on a slower pace between January to June 2013 compared to the 17.2% depreciation the currency recorded during the same period in 2012, the Bank of Ghana said July 31, 2013 at a press conference.
In trade weighted terms, the cedi appreciated in real terms by 1.8% compared to a depreciation of 14.3% last year, the BoG added.
