NCCE intensifies campaign pending Supreme Court verdict
The Yendi Municipal Director of National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Alhaji Alhassan Iddi Sulemana, has called on all to follow the example of leading political figures who have pledged to abide by the verdict of the Supreme Court.
He said President John Draman Mahama and the New Patriotic Party’s Presidential Candidate for the 2012 Election, Nana Akuffo Addo, are examples of such leaders who have both pledged on different occasions to abide by the verdict of the Supreme Court.
Alhaji Sulemana made the called during a community Durbar at Kumfong, suburb of Yendi.
He appealed to all Ghanaian to contribute their quota to ensure that the relative peace they have in Yendi and the country is sustained and not disturbed if the Supreme Court announces its verdict.
Mr Sulemana urged the opinion leaders, women, and social groups, to advise the youth in their communities to keep away from trouble and appealed to pastors and Imams to inform their congregations on the need to maintain peace in the society.
Alhaji Abukari Alhassan, an opinion leader, prayed that the judges will be God fearing and administer judgment without fear or favour.
Similar durbars have been organised in Nayilifong North, and South, Malzeri, Bunbon and Pion, all in the Yendi Municipality, where chiefs, youth groups and opinion leaders attended to discuss the expected announcement.
