Bobikuma gets $20,000 ICT centre

A $20,000 computer laboratory for basic schools in Upper Bobikuma has been inaugurated and handed over to the authorities.

The project was financed by Building for the Future Generation and Project World Citizen Society, both Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).

The ICT facility would be used by the cluster of schools in and around Upper and Lower Bobikuma to promote the teaching and learning of ICT.

Mr Emmanuel Nkrumah Executive, Director of Building for the Future Generation, said the two NGOs also assisted in re-roofing the six-classroom block belonging to the Roman Catholic JHS whose roof was destroyed during a rainstorm in 2009.

He said the fund for ICT project was solicited from University of Ottawa in Canada.

The Executive Director said the NGOs have imported about 20 more computers to increase the total number of computers at the facility from 16 to 36 and facilitate effective teaching and learning.

Nana Yaw Buabeng, Chief of Upper Bobikuma, who received keys to the facility, also donated a computer as his personal contribution towards the Center.

He appealed to parents to invest more in their children’s education for them to become useful citizen in future.
