DHL plans to increase outlets in Ghana
DHL Express, an international express and logistics company has cited Ghana as a key market towards its expansion and investment strategy across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Mr Charles Brewer, Managing Director of DHL Express in charge of Sub-Saharan Africa said at a media briefing that Ghana provides an attractive market backed by the country’s growth domestic product of seven per cent.
Addressing a wide range of issues, he said plans are far ahead to increase the company’s current 76 outlets across the country to 100 by the end of the year to make its products accessible to the markets.
“The opportunity is for us to expand our footprint within the country and service semi-urban and rural areas so that anyone, from a student to small business, can access our network.”
In the area of service, Mr Brewer said they the company is investing towards the acquisition of equipment such as aircrafts and vehicles in line with the objective of providing the best for customers.
The Managing Director also outlined a support training programme for Small and Medium Enterprises in the areas of motivation, knowledge and financing to help DHL grow its brands.
On personnel, he expressed commitment towards the building and creating the best workforce in Africa with a world-class talent pool.
“I believe we have some of the best talent in our organisation and we have the opportunity to hone and develop them. I am very passionate about our investments in training.”
Mr Kader Koulibaly, General Manager of DHL Express Ghana, said the company is committed to offering the best of services for its customers and confirm its status as the leader in the industry.
Mr Brewer is expected to meet with key stakeholders, customers and employees of the company during his stay in the country.
