President Mahama assesses post-verdict security situation
President John Dramani Mahama this morning chaired the National Security Council meeting to assess the performance of the security before the election petition verdict.
The meeting would also appraise the performance of security after the verdict and review plans that would ensure perpetual peace and unity in the country.
Felix Kwakye- Ofosu, a Deputy Minister for Information and Media Relations announced this during the daily media briefings at the Flagstaff House, Kanda.
Similar security council meetings were held prior to election petition verdict and today’s meeting was to consolidate the previous gains and to initiate other measures that would provide adequate security in the country.
The Deputy Minister said the emotions that had engulfed the country before the election petition verdict became a national concern and it was therefore encouraging that that day was marked as the most peaceful in the country.
He said government would take all measures that would ensure permanent peace and harmony for Ghanaians to perform their duties without fear or favour.
