Deadline for road safety awards media category extended
Deadline for the entries of the 4th National Road Safety Awards (NRSA) media category, has been extended to September 30 instead of September 20, 2013.
A statement from the National Road Safety Commission (NRSC) on Monday said the extension followed calls from media houses to enable them submit entries.
The statement signed by Mr Kwame Koduah Atuahene encouraged stringers and journalists to submit entries in the form of news stories, features, articles, editorials, documentaries, discussion programmes, which are relevant to promoting road safety as a developmental issue.
It explained that entries were expected at the Commission in printed copies for the print category and recorded copies of publication for the electronic (radio and television) categories, indicating name, date of publication and must be submitted not later than September 30 2013.
It said the awards, instituted in 2010, were to recognise the effort of individual journalists and organisations that had contributed in helping to promote and raising the profile of road safety in Ghana.
This year’s award is scheduled for November 20 in Accra on the theme: “Safe Transport Systems: the Role of Commercial Transport operators and the Media”.
