Birim Central Assembly fails to elect Presiding Member
The Birim Central Municipal Assembly has failed to elect a Presiding Member (PM) to replace the former, Mr Kwabena Nkansah Asare who has relinquished the position.
Mr Asare is contesting for the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) position.
Mr Kofi Diawuo, an Internal Auditor of the Asikuma Odobeng Brakwa District and Mr Daniel Agyei-Danjumah, Municipal Manager of the National Health Insurance Scheme, are vying for the position.
None of the candidates secured the two-thirds of the votes cast three times by the 58-member assembly.
