Indiscretion caused Hearts – Coach Duncan
Hearts of Oak coach, David Duncan has blamed his charges Premier League lone goal defeat to Asante Kotoko on indiscretion.
Hearts second half dominance was insufficient to rescue a point from Kotoko and Duncan who was hoping for a second win in two games says his players indiscretion in front of goals proved costly.
He told GNA Sports in a post match that ‘a dent of indiscretion and lack of applying the right technique in delivering some of the chances created did not help us’.
Duncan refused to be disappointed despite the loss in front of the home crowd, insisting ‘I do not feel disappointed because it is a young team and I give them credit for how they conducted themselves today.
‘Like the mantra goes, when you refuse to take your chances, it all comes back to haunt you and that is what happened today.’
Hearts has slipped to sixth place after the defeat but Duncan insists the difference between his conquerors who have jumped to the apex of the 16-team log and the Phobians was conversion of chances.
‘Kotoko played very well especially in the first half and we were equally good. They took the only chance they had while against the run of play we should have been two up even before the half ended.’
A half hour mark strike by Seidu Bancey was all Kotoko required to bag all three points and further earn bragging rights over their perennial rivals.
