Ghana Premier League: Hearts excels in five-goal thriller
Hearts of Oak descended on the Habour City to excel in a five-goal thriller in their third week Ghana Premier League game against debutants, Inter Allies at the Tema Stadium on Sunday.
Hearts worked their socks off to return to Accra with a 3-2 victory in the game the Phobians needed to win to resurrect their surge after last weekend’s lone defeat to Asante Kotoko .
Winfred Cobbinah’s first-half brace sent Hearts into a quick lead before Gabriel Hotor pulled a goal back very late in the half.
Hearts looking good on the afternoon extended their hold moments after recess when Selasie Adjei found the back of the net to keep the dream of amassing all three points going.
With humiliation looking them in the face, Allies fought for parity but could only get another consolation after Hearts goalkeeper; Tetteh Lugaurd mistimed a ball to concede his second goal of the day.
The defeat, Allies third in three games leaves them at the foot of the 16-team table.
