Ghana Premier League: Hearts gets first home win
A second half strike by Winful Cobbinah gifted Hearts of Oak their first home win after posting a 2-1 victory over Sekondi Hasaacas in the Ghana Premier League mid-week duel at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.
Emmanuel Hayford put Hearts ahead in 18 minutes only for Hasaacas to draw parity through Samuel Afum eight minutes before recess.
The visitor’s confidence soared after the equalizer and returned from the break stronger, pinning the Phobians to their half on countless occasions.
Soon, Hearts turned on the heat and Hayford gave a glimpse of his intent when he missed narrowly from a close range after the hour mark.
Hayford’s effort was rewarded moments on when he found the back of the net against the run of play.
Hearts has won three of their four games.
