Black Stars’ bonuses increased ahead of Egypt clash
President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwasi Nyantakyi says the Black Stars will earn increased match bonuses in the event of victory over Egypt in the final phase of the FIFA World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.
Nyantakyie told GNA Sports, the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), headline sponsors of the Black Stars had upped winning bonuses from $12,000 to $15,000 per a player.
‘‘GNPC announced yesterday to management and the players of a possible 50% increment of wining bonus. They promised the team that they will do all it takes to encourage them.
‘‘The players have also promised us they will reciprocate by putting up a splendid performance by recording a convincing victory that will make the second leg a mere formality’’.
The same will be offered when the Black Stars travel to Cairo as guest of the Pharaohs for the second leg on November 19.
Ghana will attempt a third successive appearance at the World Cup after participation in Germany 2006 and South Africa 2010.
