Techiman Catholic Co-operative opens new banking complex
Management of Techiman Catholic Co-operative Society has opened its new banking complex in Techiman.
Most Rev Dominic Yeboah Nyarko, Catholic Bishop of Techiman Diocese who dedicated the building, commended management and staff of the society for putting up the structure.
He said the purpose of the Co-operative Society was to assist the ordinary Catholic to cultivate the habit of saving to alleviate poverty and ensure self-reliance, independence and self fulfillment.
“The edifice here does not only represent the growth of Techiman Catholic Co-operataive Society Limited but it also represents hard work, dedication, commitment to duty and the readiness to face the challenges ahead” he said.
Bishop Nyarko urged management of the Bank to embark on innovations, work on staff motivation, put in place strategies and ensure effective planning, sustainable and achievable goals and Human Resource Development to meet the challenges of the time.
He appealed to staff to be honest, diligent in their performance, ensure better customer and client care and strict adherence to the rules of the society to build the image and capacity of the financial institution.
Bishop Nyarko suggested to management to engage the services of auditors both internal and external to check fraud, reckless or excessive spending, misappropriation and other financial malfeasance that could erode the gains of the bank.
Madam Alice Kupour, General Manager of the Society, said the society was established by the late Most Rev James K. Owusu in 1974 with the aim of addressing poverty.
She said the bank would offer normal savings, micro savings, special deposit, fixed deposit commercial loans, funeral loans, educational loans, farming loans and micro credit loan.
Madam Kupour said the bank would introduce new products such as shares, mobile banking “Ketewa Biara Nsua Savings”, salary payment and cheque clearance, Western Union and ATM Services.
