Gushiegu Assembly confirms DCE

Assembly Members of the Gushiegu District on Monday overwhelmingly voted to confirm Mr Fuseini Alhassan as the District Chief Executive to serve another four years.

Mr Alhassan polled 29 votes out of 36, representing 80.6 per cent in an election supervised by the Electoral Commission.

Mr Bede Ziedeng, the Northern Regional Minister, said Mr Alhassan distinguished himself creditably over the past four years and stressed the need for teamwork to develop Gushiegu devoid of partisanship.

Mr Alhassan gave the assurance that he would continue to run an open door administration to further push the development of the area forward.

He said he was not going to recognise any assembly member as an opponent but he would see all of them as partners in development.
