ActionAid volunteers commended
The Sagnarigu District in the Northern Region has hosted 42 volunteers and sponsors from ActiondAid Greece to a dinner to thank them for their voluntarism leading to development and social justice in the district.
The ActionAid Greece delegation spent about a week in the Sagnarigu District and contributed in terms of human labour and capital to build a kindergarten at Kpene.
Speaking at the Northern Regional Coordinating Council in Tamale, Mr Bede Ziedeng, Northern Regional Minister, commended the members of the delegation for their love for the underprivileged and lobbied them for more assistance.
Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini, Deputy Northern Regional Minister and Member of Parliament for Sagnarigu, commended the delegation for their compassion to bring relief to the underprivileged in society.
Mr Alhassan Mohammed Sorogudoo, District Chief Executive for Sagnarigu, called for a lasting relationship between the district and the delegation for continued collaboration for development.
Madam Esther Boateng, Northern Ghana Programmes Coordinator of ActionAid Ghana, said the delegation decided to visit the Northern Region because of the stories they heard about the region.
Madam Sofia Delenika, Support Services, Systems and Processes Officer of ActionAid Greece, commended community members in the Sagnarigu District for their hospitality and expressed the delegation’s appreciation for the projects being undertaken by ActionAid Ghana.
