Court orders arrest of Merchant Bank teller
The Juaso Circuit Court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of a banker over alleged stealing of cash of GH¢300,000.00 from his employers.
He has been on police inquiry bail and was supposed to have appeared before the court but failed to show up.
Oteng, an assistant teller at the Konongo branch of the Merchant Bank is said to have stolen the money between March and December, 2013.
Police Chief Inspector Joseph Obeng told the court presided over by Mr Alex Obeng Asante that the crime was uncovered during a routine audit.
A formal report was consequently made to the police leading to his arrest and the grant of police inquiry bail, which he jumped.
The court is adjourned to January 10
