SADA and partners dialogue on development
A meeting between the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) and Heads of Cooperation (development partners) in the country has opened in Tamale to dialogue with the collective aim of supporting development effectiveness, coordination, and opportunities in the SADA zone.
The meeting, which aims to accelerate sustainable socio-economic development of the SADA zone, also intends to initiate a longer-term strategic process of fostering and strengthening partnerships and development impact in the SADA zone.
It is being held on the theme: “Strengthening Development Coordination and Increasing Development in the SADA Zone.”
In a brief interaction with journalists before the closed door meeting began on Tuesday, Mr Charles Abugri, acting Chief Executive Officer of SADA, said the meeting was to re-establish the strategic relationship between SADA and its development partners to leverage development interventions within the SADA zone to achieve better results.
Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna, Northern Regional Minister said the meeting was to build consensus on the direction of the new SADA.
Mr Jim Bever, Mission Director of the United States Agency for International Development said “we remain steadfast to the development challenges of the SADA zone” expressing hope that the meeting would come out with plans to advance development within the SADA zone.
