Gonja District adopts strategy to increase revenue
The Central Gonja District Assembly in the Northern Region has adopted some pragmatic strategies for revenue mobilization to increase its internally generated funds for development of the area.
Mr Mumuni Shiraz Ibn Yacin, the District Chief Executive of the area, mentioned the strategies as the opening of the Fufulso/Junction Market on regular basis; posting of a revenue collector to the Yapei Market, re-allocating dormant market stores to interested persons and renovating some Area Councils to make them functional to support the Assembly in revenue generation.
Other strategies include the constant sensitisation of the Assembly members to offer support in revenue mobilisation in their respective electoral areas to boost the district’s economy.
