ayensuano-district-assemblyThe Ayensuano District Assembly in the Eastern Region, has managed to generate GH₵ 251,933.00 from January to September, representing 81 per cent expected revenue of Internally Generated Funds (IGF).

The Assembly set a revenue generation target of GH₵ 309,290.00 for the year.

Mr Mike Ofori Darko, the District Chief Executive (DCE) made this known at the first session of the first ordinary meeting of the Assembly at Coaltar in the Eastern Region.

“The Assembly is not doing badly”, he said.

He commended Mr Alfred Tei Nartey, the District Finance Officer and the staff of the Assembly for their hard work and asked them not to rest on their oars.

Mr Darko said the long term vision of the Assembly is to provide the requisite infrastructure that would guarantee quality of life for the people through the provision of essential services and the creation of an enabling environment to promote and sustain the development of the district.

The DCE said the security of the people in the district is his number one priority and appealed to chiefs in the area to offer lands for the construction of community police stations to reduce crime.

Mr Darko said the government has accepted to open new police stations at Anum Apapam, Amanase and Teacher Mante and that works are ongoing.

“Currently the Police personnel in the area are staying in private homes and also not having vehicles for night patrols or to carry suspects to court at Nsawam, Suhum and Asamankese,” he said.

He pleaded with the Police Administration to provide logistics to the personnel in the district for them to work efficiently.

Mr Darko also called on the assembly members to show interest in the National Sanitation Programme to ensure that the district is environmentally clean.
