Nyantakyi re-elected WAFU President
The president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi has been re-elected as the president of West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B to serve for another four years.
The Congress held in Accra on Tuesday also witnessed some aspirants for the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) Presidential elections addressed delegates on their plans for the World governing body.
Mr. Nyantakyi secured four votes to beat Mr. Djibrilla Hima Hamidou from Niger who polled three votes out of the seven total votes cast.
Delegates from the seven WAFU member countries including Nigeria, Niger, Benin, Togo, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, and Burkina Faso are currently in Accra for the congress held at the Movenpick hotel.
The GFA boss will now manage the affairs of the sub-regional football body from 2016-2020.
