NDC Young Cadres assure Mahama of power in 2016

NDCMembers of the Young Cadres Association (YCA) of the National Democratic Congress, have pledged their support for the leader of the ruling party, Mr John Dramani Mahama to re-attain power in the forthcoming general election.

Mr Michael Dery, President of the YCA said the association would show evidence of a superior track-record of performance in the upcoming election for victory 2016

The Association declared their support in Accra during their first national/regional representative and executive committee meeting in Accra.

Mr Dery said, as a big organised group in the country with solid structures and effective leadership from all members, the association stands poised to engage all party faithful across the county for serious campaign ideas.

He said: “The theme for this meeting being: ‘Determination is the key to success,’ is indeed a call in a right direction because, as we all know it our right to make sure we keep this great party in power, which cannot be taken for granted in upcoming 2016 election.”

He noted that the President has put in place many interventions to improve accessibility and equality programmes across the country, which is reflecting in the improvement of all sectors of the national life such as education, health, water provision, housing, roads, transport and security.

“It is this performance and bold step he took to resolve long-standing systematic problems that will convince the sovereign people of Ghana to entrust the destiny of the country into his hands in the next four years,” he said.

Mr Bright Botchway, General Secretary of YCA told the regional representatives that the duties of the members include sending reports to the national executives of the party when they find something wrong with the operations of the regional executives, which is not an easy task, hence the need to work hard.

He assured the representatives of the preparedness of the executives to provide them with the necessary information and logistics needed to operationalise their duties.

“We want transparency to be in this Association, therefore we will update you on everything that will be decided within YCA,” he said.

Mr Ebo Crentill, National Coordinator of the Association mentioned values as part of the core position of the Association.

He said the representatives should also be abreast of any information so that they could assist the leaders of the party with any necessary information.

Mr Crentill also asked the representatives to operate within the code of ethics set out in the Association and also take every responsibility assigned to them seriously to avoid sanctions.
