Chinese company strengthens Ghana’s technical knowledge
Mr Liang Wei, the Translator and spokesperson for the China State Hualong Construction Limited, says the company aims to strengthen technical knowledge in Ghana to help grow bilateral relations.
Mr Liang said this during a media tour of the expanded New Century Career Training Institute (NCCTI) into a comprehensive career training institute and junior high school.
The $6,551,900 – project, is the result of a contract, signed between the International Economic Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, and the China Gansu International Corporation for Economic and technical Cooperation on December 21, 2012.
Mr Liang said through the execution of such magnificent projects, China State Hualong Construction sought to contribute towards the development of Ghana, as well as the strengthening of bilateral relations.
Mrs Lydia Duvor, Manager of the NCCTI, said the institute is working towards having student exchange programmes between the institute and similar Chinese establishments.
She said plans are also afoot for industries and companies to have openings in the institute.
Mrs Duvor said these openings would give students first-hand experience in entrepreneurship, and equip them work better as professionals in future.
She described the project as timely, saying: “We were in dire need of such an expansion at the time.” Courses offered at the facility include carpentry, dress making, catering, and general electrical.
