Cache of firearms uncovered by police at Boankra

Small armsThe Ejisu Divisional Police Command last Thursday uncovered caches of firearms including 219 rounds of live ammunition and two AK 47 assault rifles, left abandoned in a Ford Transit Bus by its two occupants, at Boankra near Kumasi.

Chief Superintendent Laar Baman, the Divisional Commander, told a press briefing in Kumasi that the vehicle together with the weapons, have been seized by the police whiles investigations has already begun to track down the two fleeing suspects.

A pair of two masks, hand gloves, two torchlights and a dagger, also found hidden in the engine compartment of the vehicle, are also in the custody of the police.

Chief Superintendent Baman said the Assembly man and the people of Hwereso in Ejisu, suspected the fugitive suspects to be part of a gang, terrorizing the residents in the area.

In a similar development, the Manhyia Divisional Command District B, has arrested one Osman Adams a resident at Asem, a suburb of Kumasi at about 2130hours.

Adams was arrested in swoop and a search on him revealed a locally manufactured pistol.

He is currently detained to assist the police in investigations.
