Nyakrom Traditional Council bans indecent dressing
The Nyakrom Traditional Council will impose huge fine on any youth who would appear indecently dressed during and after annual Akwambo Festival celebration.
Okofo Katakyi Nyarkoh Eku X, Omanhene of the Council, made this known to the media as they met to outline activities for the week-long Akwambo festival celebration.
He said the Council has directed the two Asafo Companies Tuafo and Dentsefo at Nyakrom to send anybody found wearing indecent attires during the festival to the chief’s palace for the necessary action to be taken against him or her
The Omanhene announced that the festival would commence from 30th July,2016 to 7th August is being sponsored by Buubrah Bitters Company limited..
Some of the programmes are general cleaning of Nyakrom town, parade through principal streets by two Asafo Companies, cooking competition, inter-community soccer competition amongst others.
The Omanhene called on the companies, corporate bodies, well-to-do Agonaman citizens to come and support the celebration of the festival.
On the upcoming December 7th elections, Omanhene cautioned the youth to not allow themselves to be used as tools to create violence during the elections.
He said elections are not grounds for war but it is an opportunity for citizens of the country to exercise their democratic and civic rights.
