The Rev Prof Omenyo elected new Moderator of PCG
The Reverend Professor Cephas Narh Omenyo has been elected as the new Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG).
This was at the church’s general assembly held in Abetifi in the Kwahu East District.
He received an overwhelming endorsement by the delegates – garnering 96.76 per cent of the votes cast.
This came after his two other contestants, the Rev J.O.Y. Mante, and the Rev Hubert Oppong, had withdrawn their nomination.
The Rev Prof Omenya is the Provost of the College of Education, University of Ghana, with vast experience in teaching, research and administration.
He has served on a number of boards and committees both in the church and the university, and until his elevation, was the Head of the Grace Presbyterian Church, West Legon.
He was ordained in 1987 and succeeds the Rev Professor Emmanuel Martey.
