More jobs and infrastructural expansion to occur – Veep
Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has assured Ghanaians that the second term of President Mahama’s government would not only be used for job creation but further the infrastructural expansion process.
He said the government would continue to ensure that communities are given their fair share of the infrastructural development.
Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur said this when he paid courtesy call on the chief of Akroso, Nana Kwabena Ofori II and other chiefs in the Akyem Kotoku Traditional area.
The call by Vice President Amissah-Arthur on the chiefs and elders was to inform them of his mission in the area as he continues on the second day of his campaign tour of the Eastern Region.
Vice President Amissah-Arthur also assured the chiefs that the development of the area would be the focus of government.
Mavis Ama Frimpong, Eastern Regional Minister, appealed to the chiefs to support President John Dramani Mahama to get a second term to continue with his transformational agenda.
Nana Kwabena Ofori II, Akrosohene, commended President Mahama for providing schools and others facilities in the area.
He prayed for God’s guidance and protection for the President as seeks for his second term in office.
Nana Kwabena Ofori also appealed to the government for the rehabilitation of the only market in the town as well as the roads of the Akroso township.
Later, at a rally near the Akroso market, Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, Director of Elections of the NDC, urged the people in the area to vote massively for President Mahama to continue with his development policies.
He said President Mahama is not divisive and also does not discriminate in terms of projects in the sharing of national care.
He said the NDC is the only political party that has the welfare and development of the area at heart.
He urged the electorates to renew the mandate of President Mahama to continue with the provision of water, roads, educational infrastructure among others for the area.
Vice President Amissah-Arthur also urged the electorates in the Akroso-Manso-Asene Constituency to vote massively to retain President Mahama to carry on with his good works.
He said though in 2012 elections the electorates in the area voted for the NDC but it did not go far enough.
He urged the foot soldiers in the Constituency to embark on house to house campaign to propagate the transformational policies of the NDC contained in the party’s manifesto.
Vice President Amissah-Arthur also introduced Mr Roland Acquaah, the NDC’s parliamentary candidate for the Akroso-Manso-Asene, to the crowd.
Vice President Amissah-Arthur and his team also addressed similarly rallies at Akim Achiase, Akim Swedru and Akim Oda constituencies where he introduced the NDC’s parliamentary candidates Yaw Sam Kwachie, Robert Ansah and Kwabena Nkansah Asare respectively.
