Waist injury forces Kwarasey out of Black Stars
Goalkeeper Adams Kwarasey has been dropped from the 26-man provisional squad of the Black Stars currently camping in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in AFCON 2017 tournament in Gabon.
The Rosenberg shot stopper who has been replaced with Fatau Daudu according to our sources in the Stars camp is suffering from a waist injury.
Daudu, who was in the Ghana national team squad for the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations and was the first choice keeper for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations edition of the tournament, has expressed his delight to join the national team after some absence.
“I feel very bad and painful for my brother Adam Larsen Kwarasey…he couldn’t make it to camp due to injury.
“I was even on my way to Nigeria to join Enyimba for pre-season when I received a call to go to Dubai and join my colleagues in camp”.
The Ashantigold shot stopper further promised of his inclusion in the team saying “I will not see myself as a standby player but to go there and make my country and mother Ghana proud when given the opportunity”.
The Norwegian born Ghanaian who made his international debut for Ghana in September 2011 in a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Swaziland has made thus made 24 appearances for the senior national team.
