Ghana Police ready for inauguration day
The Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, Superintendent Cephas Arthur says the police is fully prepared to handle all issues related to security on the inauguration day of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He said due to the nature of the event there will be heavy police presence at the Black Star Square and all roads around the venue where the event will take place to ensure the smooth running of the ceremony.
Supt. Arthur noted that only those with accreditation would be allowed to enter the park and so giant screens would be mounted at the Accra Sports Stadium and the Nationalism Park to enable those without accreditation to catch a glimpse of the proceedings.
He said some areas near the Black Stars Square like the Osu and the Ministries traffic light would be blocked.
“The Police will also provide a first aid clinic to provide services in case of emergencies,” he noted, adding “Pick pockets and others with the intention to commit crime at the event will not be allowed to operate due to tight security measures that will be put in place.”
