Mawarko Supervisor granted bail

A District Court in Accra has admitted Jihad Chaaban, the Mawarko Restaurant Supervisor who is alleged to have dipped the face of a worker into blended pepper to bail.
 
Chaaban was admitted to bail in the sum of GH¢20,000 cedis with two sureties.
 
The court presided over by Ms Victoria Ghansah ordered the Chaaban to be reporting on every Tuesday and Friday to the Tesano Police.
 
Prosecution prayed for adjournment since they alleged that the victim who was to testify was traumatised 
The court however declined insisting that the hearing must commence today and it indicated its preparedness to sit until 4:00pm today.
 
Prosecuting Chief Inspector H.A Hanson was directed to put the victim in the witness box to give her evidence in chief.
The victim Evelyn Boakye told the court that she had worked with the company for seven years.
 
According to her she had so never ever been transferred to any other department of the restaurant.
The defence team led by Julio Demefeiros cross-examined the victim.
 
The matter was adjourned to March 20 for further cross-examination.
 
Chaaban is being held on the charges assault, offensive conduct and causing harm and has pleaded not guilty.
