Wa All Stars did not deserve to lose the game – Coach
Head coach of Wa All Stars, Enos Kwame Adepah, has described his side’s 2-1 loss to Accra Hearts of Oak in the week four of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) as an unfair result, saying they deserved at least a point.
All Stars, who were eliminated from the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Champions League, last week, started their first league with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Accra Hearts of Oak.
Coach Adepah said, Wa All Stars did not deserve to lose, taking into consideration the level of performance exhibited.
“It was a nice game for both sides, we knew it was going to be a tough game for us, because we have been a thorn in their flesh in our last meetings and also having played three matches, without a victory they were under pressure to win today.
“But I think it was not a fair result for us, we did not deserve to lose today, we came all out to bury them in the second half, because after scouting on them, I realized after 70minutes they were going to get tired and it that was obvious.
“A defensive blunder cost us in this game, they took advantage of our mistakes and punished us, so credit to them for the victory.
“This is a different team as compared to last season’s, five young players were in the squad today and they are now gelling. We have our own problems in terms of much fitness.
“Some of our players have not played in the GPL. Some also joined us from division two sides and it will take time for them to be at the level we want.
“Hearts of oak have played three matches in the league already and this was our first game, our opponents have had the feel of it and were mentally ready for the game.
“This defeat will help us put our edges together, the mechanism will start working well after our next two or three games. We are in to defend our title and we must get things right as earlier we can.” He said.
