Vodafone introduces new product in Ghana
Vodafone Ghana Ltd., has introduced a new product targeted at educational institutions and remote communities in Ghana.
Vodafone, a British registered company acquired 70 per cent shares in Ghana’s national telecommunications provider Ghana Telecom in June 2008.
The product, S-Link system is aimed at providing easy accessibility to communication for communities and schools. The product is also expected to help users stay in touch with friends and family.
The product was recently launched at a ceremony at Sumbrugu, near Bolgatanga, the Upper Eastern regional capital.
Speaking at the ceremony, Major Albert Don Chebe, Head of Corporate Communication, Vodafone Ghana Ltd., said the introduction of the product is part of Vodafone’s commitment to extend communication to many communities in the country.
According to him, even though Vodafone has been in the country for barely four months, the company was making efforts to improve the country’s communications and enhance quality, as well as extend coverage to as many communities as possible.
Major Don Chebe said S-Link primarily focused on schools and so far Vodafone has installed the facility in over 100 schools in the country.
