GRIDCo to present preliminary findings on general power outage to public

The Ghana Grid Company Ltd (GRIDCo), says it has commenced investigations into the cause of the general power outage that threw most parts of the country into darkness and will inform the public on it preliminary findings.

In a press release signed by the Head of Public Relations, Albert Kwesi Quainoo, the company said power supply was restored to all its bulk supply point, hours after the surge in the power resulted in widespread outages across the country.

The release noted that technical teams from the generation,transmission and distribution companies worked throughout  the night to facilitate the restoration of power after the outage which occurred at 9:40pm on May 3, 2017

It assured the public that there are ongoing works to restore power to isolated areas in the distribution network, especially consumers served from the Mallam sub-station.

It apologised to the consumers for the outage.
