Vera Songwe begins work at the ECA

The new Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), Dr Vera Songwe has officially began work at offices of the Commission in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, according to a press release from the ECA copied to ghanabusinessnews.com.

Dr Songwe started work today, Thursday, August 2, 2017.

The appointment of Dr. Songwe, the first woman to head the ECA was announced by the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, Thursday April 13, 2017.
