President Akufo-Addo starts tour of Western Region

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo Monday began a six-day tour of the Central and Western regions.

The tour would afford him the opportunity to interact with the people to hear their concerns at first hand.

It is also to thank the people the massive support they gave him during in the general election, last year; and to reassure them of honouring his electoral promises.

He started from Bibiani in the Western Region where he is the Guest of Honour at a durbar by the Chiefs and people.

President Akufo-Addo is expected to follow through to Sefwi Wiawso where he would call on the Omanhene and people of the Traditional Area.

He would launch the Cocoa Mass Spraying exercise in Wiawso, and then leave for Denkyira Obuasi, where he would interact briefly with the people of the area.

President Akufo-Addo is then scheduled to attend a durbar of chiefs and people of Wassa Akropong in the evening of and later in the day, attend a durbar to be organised by the chiefs and people of Wassa Akropong.

On Tuesday, August 8, 2017, President Akufo-Addo would meet with the people of Tarkwa Nsuaem before heading to Half Assini; where he would also interact with the chiefs and people of the area at Jomoro.

The President would also visit the Atuabo Gas Plant in the Elembelle Constituency, and later attend a durbar at Victoria Park to be organised by the Chiefs and people of Axim, after which he would depart to Takoradi.

President Nana Akufo-Addo would on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, call on the Omanhene and elders of the Essikado Traditional area, and later visit the Efia Nkwanta Regional Hospital and interact with patients and staff.

He would after those interactions in the morning, meet with traders of the Takoradi Market Circle in the Western Regional capital, Takoradi.

Then on Thursday, August 10, 2017, the President would start his tour of the Central Region with a call on the Regional House of Chiefs at Cape Coast and thence proceed to Twifo Praso, where a durbar has been planned by the chiefs and people of Twifo and Atti Morkwa.

Then on Friday, August 11, 2017, he would end his tour after attending two durbars by the chiefs and people of Ekumfi and Senya.

The President would then depart Cape Coast for Accra on Saturday, August 12.
