Ensure rigorous auditing of public sector institutions – Bawumia
Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has inaugurated a nine-member Governing Board of the Internal Audit Agency, with a call to it to ensure rigorous audit processes of the public sector institutions for rectitude and accountability.
He said the nation was driving towards self-reliance under the “Ghana beyond aid”, which required judicious utilisation of resources to engender socio-economic development.
The government was therefore going to rely on the Agency during audit processes of the various public institutions to protect the public purse.
Vice President Bawumia swore them in at the Jubilee House, on Wednesday.
He said they were selected based on their expertise and capabilities and expressed optimism that they would live up to expectation.
He was confident that they would perform their duties with excellence.
The Board has Mr. Joseph B. Winful as its Chairperson.
The other members are Mr Ransford Agyei, Director General of the Agency, Mr Samuel Danquah Arkhurst, Mr Frank A. Raji, Madam Janet Fofie, Professor Kwame Adom-Frimpong, Madam Agatha Gaisie-Nketsiah, Mr Christian Sottie, and Fiifi Kwakye.
Mr Winful thanked the President for the confidence and gave the assurance that they would not disappoint.
