The Late AB Crentsil

Highlife musician Kaakyire Kwame Appiah has expressed sorrow over the passing of one of Ghana’s music greats Alfred Benjamin “A. B.” Crentsil.

The Legendary Highlife musician died at age, 79.

The news of the death of the veteran Highlife musician broke in the early hours of Wednesday, July 13, 2022, with Ghanaians expressing their condolences on various social media platforms.

Speaking in an interview with the GNA Entertainment, Kaakyire Kwame Appiah confirmed the news about the death of A.B. Crenstil describing him as a very jovial and courteous individual.

“One thing I remember about AB Crenstil was his sense of humour and the willingness to engage everyone around him regardless of the age difference.

“He was very friendly, selfless, and taught me a lot in my music career. May his soul rest in perfect peace. His legacy in the music industry would forever be remembered,” he said.

A.B Crentsil has had an illustrious career in the music industry spanning more than two decades and has produced some timeless hit singles including “Angelina”, “Moses”, “Papa Samoa”, “Juliana”, among many others

He won numerous Ghanaian music awards, including the Fontomfrom Evergreen Award, a special honour bestowed on him.
