Ghana asked to experiment with young players at Nations Cup

The Technical head of Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s Under-20 side, Dogo Moro has noted that the absence of some key and senior players from the Black Stars squad would not affect the team’s performance at the Orange African Cup of Nations tournament in Angola which kicks of January 10.

He indicated that Ghana is endowed with equally good talents and therefore challenged the technical handlers to harness and make the best use of the players at hand.

“I believe that if the handlers have the moral courage to experiment with the talented young players included in the team, Ghana would go places”, he said.

Coach Dogo Moro was sharing his views with the GNA Sports in Kumasi on Saturday on the chances of the Black Stars ahead of the tournament.

The former stalwart defender of Kotoko and Black Stars cited players like Dominic Adiyiah, Ransford Osei, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, Dan Addo and goalkeeper Daniel Adjei as good and worthy substitutes.

“After careful observation of these players, the coach said he has a firm conviction that the youngsters can easily step into the shoes of the absentee key players if they are given the necessary encouragement and support.

The Black Stars go into the competition without some of its key players including John Mensah, skipper Stephen Appiah and John Pantsil due to injuries as well as Sulley Muntari.
