Kosmos Energy – Ghana has three billion barrels of oil
Kosmos Energy, the oil and gas exploration company based in Dallas, Texas in the US, which is working in the oil fields of Ghana says by the second end of 2010, Ghana’s oil field, particularly, the Jubilee field would be spewing out three billion barrels of oil.
This revelation was made by the company’s Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Founding Partner, James Musselman, when the company paid a visit to President John Atta Mills at the Castle, Osu, Thursday January 15, 2009.
Mr. Musselman described the Jubillee field as a “world class field.”
He said from the work Kosmos has done so far on the Jubilee field, they are certain of the quantity of oil available in the field is far in excess of one billion barrels, adding however that more work has to be done to truly establish the exact quantity of oil in the field.
Meanwhile, some civil society groups, and think tanks have warned that the country should not believe everything the exploration companies say about the oil find.
It is also not clear how much the country would make from the oil, and information available elsewhere indicate that the country would not start earning money from gthe oil find, till by the end of 2010.
The President, advised the investors to work within the laws of the land.

IF THEY CAN TELL HOW MANY BARRELS WE CAN GET WITHIN 2010 THEN THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO TELL US THE AMOUNT OF MONEY OUR COUNTRY WILL MAKE FROM THE OIL
THANK YOU
our oil should be jealously guided and every agreement concerning it should be well vetted in parliament should be if possible well debated upon, transparent and above all prudently managed. round pegs should not be put in square noles in managing the affairs of the oil, we should take a clue from other countries and make good use of this God given resources. God bless Ghana.
I WANT THE PEOPLE OF GHANA TO KNOW THAT,NO MATTER HOW THE
POLITICIANS WILL TREAT US,WE SHOULD KNOW THAT,ANYTHING AT ALL,I MEAN ANY CONDITION IS BETTER THAN WAR.
