Barclays donates towards theatre for children’s hospital
Barclays Bank Ghana Limited on Thursday presented a cheque for 20,000 Pounds in aid of the construction of a theatre for the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital.
Mr. Benjamin Dabra, Managing Director of the Bank said the presentation was in fulfilment of an earlier promise to assist the hospital to have its own theatre.
He said this were challenging times for all financial institutions in the country and for them at Barclays, the presentation was a privilege for them to serve children.
Mr. Dabra said it was also part of their social responsibility to the community in which they operated and assured the government of the bank’s commitment to helping it achieve its health delivery system.
Father Andrew Campbell, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the hospital, thanked Barclays for the kind gesture and appealed to other institutions that promised the hospital to make good their promises.
He appealed to government to provide the hospital with vehicles to increase its fleet of only two vehicles.
Father Campbell said the vision of the hospital is to become a specialized hospital not only in malnutrition but other clinical areas and found Barclays presentation in the right direction.
