Kotoko suffer third consecutive loss; Gold Stars maintain top spot

Kumasi Asante Kotoko suffered its third consecutive loss on Sunday, falling to Bechem United at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.

Kofi Tompuo’s thundering volley from 35 yards was key for Bechem United, who finally won a league match after drawing three in a row.

It was a heartbreaking defeat for the Porcupine Warriors, who fell to sixth place in the league with 15 points and are now winless in four games.

Accra Hearts of Oak won back-to-back matches for the first time this season, defeating debutant Vision FC 1-0 at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

Mawuli Wayo’s spectacular second-half strike was enough to secure all three points for the Phobians, who improved to fifth place in the league with 15 points.

Bibiani Gold Stars maintained their unbeaten start in the league after getting a crucial away point against Young Apostles.

Nations FC recorded an emphatic 3-0 win over Nsoatreman FC to move up second on the league table with 18 points.

Faisal Chawetey, who has been superb for Nations FC this season, scored twice while Boris Bi added the other goal to ensure the massive win.

Dreams FC recorded their first victory of the season after defeating Medeama SC 1-0 at the Tuba Astro Turf.

Joseph Esso scored from the spot in the 72nd minute to give Dreams FC maximum points, but it was not enough to lift them off the foot of the table.
