John Terry 'so in love' with his wife

John Terry’s wife insisted they were a “strong couple” despite the former England captain’s alleged affair.

Terry flew to Dubai on Thursday for crunch talks with Toni, 28, who fled to the Emirate following allegations that her husband had an extra-marital affair with lingerie model Vanessa Perroncel, the ex-partner of England team-mate Wayne Bridge.

The 29-year-old, who was sacked as England captain last week, was pictured kissing and cuddling his wife as the couple relaxed with their two children by the pool of a five-star hotel.

Speaking to The Sun, Terry said: “The pictures say more than words can say about how we are as a couple.

“What me and Toni speak about, no one will ever know. No one will ever get close to knowing about how our life is. We are private people.

“We know how we feel about each other and that is the main thing. Our relationship has never been knocked down. We’re just so in love.”

Photographs showed the pair enjoying the hot weather as they frolicked on sun loungers and swam in the pool.

Toni told the newspaper: “We’re very strong as a couple – always have been. John came over to see me and the kids and enjoy a few days in the hot weather.”

The England player has been allowed to miss Chelsea’s FA Cup match against Cardiff today to take some time off after lurid headlines relating to his private life were splashed across the papers.

Chelsea assistant manager Ray Wilkins said Terry discussed taking a break from club duties with manager Carlo Ancelotti.
