Becca releases single

Rebecca Acheampong, aka Becca, who appeared on the music scene with the hit song You Lied To Me a year ago is set to take over the music scene again with her hit single Daa Ke Daa.

Becca’s single which is one of the tracks on her second album of 12 bouncing tracks is already enjoying appreciable airplay.

Her second album, according to a source close to her management team, would be launched in March 20 this year at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra.

Within a short period on the music scene Becca has demonstrated to Ghanaians her potentials by staging spectacular live performances in Ghana and beyond.

‘Daa Ke Daa’ which is the soundtrack of Sparrow Production’s movie the ‘Scorned’ is expected to be shown on certain TV stations in Ghana and South Africa. The hit-single is one of the best, if not the best, songs on Becca’s second album.

In a chat with Beatwaves Becca indicated that her kind of music was Afro-pop with a touch of R&B, Hip-hop, Soka, Dancehall and even Reggae.

When asked whether she believed Ghanaians were in love with her music, her response was: “Ghanaians really love my music, especially a song like ‘You Lied To Me’. I’m kind of marveled right now because my fans have accepted the song including the ones that are out like ‘Hey Ba’ and ‘Sugar’. Fans really love it; from children to adults. I think it’s doing quite well.”

She told Beatwaves she dreams of doing collaborations with stars like Daddy Lumba, John Legend, Beyonce among others and “I will like to do a full album with Hugh Masekela and The Black Mumbas”.

She featured Hugh Masekela, a great musician from South Africa on her track ‘I love you’ on her first album.

Becca’s record label, EKB Records and Hugh Masekela’s Chisa Records in South Africa collaborated in the promotion of her first album on the international market.
