Ghana stocks fall on financial stocks
Shares on the Ghana Stock Exchange closed lower on Thursday on account of losses in three equities, reversing previous gains in the index.
The benchmark GSE All-Share Index fell 160.85 points to close at 6,116.77 points from 6,277.62 points at the previous close.
This brings the gains so far this year to 9.77 percent.
On the broader market, Ecobank Ghana Limited (EBG) dropped GH¢0.20 at GH¢3.65, Ecobank Transnational Incoporated (ETI) lost GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.16 and Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) fell GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.97.
The only gainer for the session was SG-SSB, which went up GH¢0.04 at GH¢0.51.
Traded volumes were twice as high at 589,870 shares valued at GH¢602,533.92 from 256,234 shares valued at GH¢263,742.79 at the previous close.
Market Capitalization dropped to close the session at GH¢17,905.43 million compared to GH¢18,039.89 million at Wednesday’s close.
